Initially the theatre relied mostly on ballet guest artists from Germany, Italy and France. Ballet teaches you to connect verbal commands & musical cues with exercise demonstrations & perform them in your own body. Contemporary dance is a free form of Jazz with a strong emphasis on Modern movement. The class culminates in intensive scene work chosen for the particular actor to meld the improvisational approach with scripted material. She has also competed at the World Hip Hop competition in Vegas. She also is a musical theater choreographer and has staged many great dance shows including West Side Story, Cabaret, Spring Awakening, and A Chorus Line.
Here additional Summer Intensive performances include Septime Webre’s Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan, and Robert Weiss’ Romeo and Juliet, as well as Giselle staged by Robert Barnett and Coppelia staged by Magaly Suarez. All students (with the exception of our Advanced Class) have the opportunity to be involved in our Year End Recital. The classes are taught in a fun, creative atmosphere. Jennifer’s stage credits include productions for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, The Canadian Armed forces show tour in Africa, and Tokyo Disneyland where she preformed as a featured dancer in “Once Upon a Mouse”.
Students will work hard and be challenged to extend their physical and mental limits in a structured, positive manner that illustrates the benefits of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Students must submit an audition form, a check for the $40 made out to The Washington Ballet, photograph and one letter of recommendation from your teacher. Stacey’s instructors use a variety of dance music that is in “tune” with the current preschool favorites.
Jennie has 22 years of teaching experience and currently teaches at various studios throughout Massachusetts. Movements are performed on gymnastics mats placed over our sprung floors for maximum protection. It is very interestingly, yet I figure it is really hard to learn. Ballet/Tap 1 is designed for students between the ages of 5 and 8 who are interested in learning about both ballet and tap dance genres. In the 1970s, Sannella and other callers introduced movements from English Country Dance, such as heys and gypsies, to the contra dances.  New dances, such as Shadrack’s Delight by Tony Parkes, featured symmetrical dancing by all couples. (Previously, the actives and inactives —see Progression below— had significantly different roles).

Classwork will deepen students' alignment, strength, flexibility, coordination, rhythm, dynamics and spatial awareness. Repeatability: May be repeated for credit unlimited times. We even have Tumbling to enhance our students knowledge and make them a more well-rounded dancer if they wish to continue beyond high school.
Charlotte has had instruction in the Cecchetti style under the tutelage of Valerie Deakin and Cherry Dowling. Students must have approval of the Artistic Director to enroll and must also enroll in the scheduled preceding ballet technique class. At UofA, JJ has performed as a bassoonist and contrabassoonist with the orchestras and has toured with the Wind Ensemble. Also includes writing exercises designed to stimulate imagination and develop writing techniques. The history of Ballet has evolved into one of the most well-known type of dances in the world this is from only the men having roles in the ballet to women being able to express emotion. Dance, the movement of the body in a rhythmic way, usually to music and within a given space, for the purpose of expressing an idea or emotion, releasing energy, or simply taking delight in the movement itself.
